That sealed their advance to the Super Regional phase, providing a quality start of six scoreless innings.

Adding more merit to the performance is that Moore was out with a stomach issue. Always ready to contribute to his program's success, Kentucky's head coach Nick Mingione shared this anecdote in the aftermath of Sunday's victory:

“At 7:36 (p.m. Saturday) my phone goes off,” Kentucky coach Nick Mingione said. “It’s a text message from Mason. This is what he said: ‘Here we go!’ That’s what he said. Just to update you, I’m feeling better and back to normal. I’m ready to throw and win us a ball game tomorrow, Coach.”

If the Wildcats get past the Beavers, it will be the first time they qualify for the College World Series.

The Oregon State Beavers come from defeating Tulane and UC Irvine (Twice) in the Corvallis Regional. The final game over UC Irvine was a convincing 11-6 victory on Monday. The offensive performance came in the back of Elijah Hainline, Mason Guerra and Dallas Macias homers. This is the ninth appearance of the Beavers in the Super Regional phase in program history.
