Day 2 of the MLB draft 2024 is set to begin in a few hours, and there are some quality players still on the board. One of the prospects available is Miami Hurricanes right-handed pitcher Gage Ziehl.

Ziehl had a strong 2024 college baseball season for the Hurricanes, as he made 15 starts and went 5-3 with a 3.87 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP in 100.0 innings. His control was superb as well, with 28 walks and 89 strikeouts. With three solid pitches (fastball, slider and changeup) and a repeatable delivery for the 21-year-old pitcher, there will be teams wanting to draft him.

Let's look at some of the best options for Gage Ziehl in the MLB draft 2024.

What team will Gage Ziehl be drafted to in MLB draft 2024?

#1 Miami Marlins

The Miami Marlins are a team that loves to develop young pitchers and should be in the market for Gage Ziehl. They have the closest line to him anyway, as the teams are in the same market, so if he loves that area, it would be a good fit. With the Marlins wanting to develop into a playoff team, getting Ziehl would be a massive addition to their pitching depth.

#2 Chicago White Sox

The Chicago White Sox have been aggressive in selecting pitchers during the MLB draft 2024, as they have already taken Arkansas' Hagen Smith and IMG Academy's Blake Larson. However, adding Gage Ziehl could be a great addition, as the organization really needs to build up its pitching depth.

The White Sox are in a stage of rebuilding, and that could mean seeing the likes of Garrett Crochet be traded and hitting the reset button completely. Getting quality players and pitchers is always a plus, so this would be a strong fit for Ziehl to get a fast track to the majors.

#3 New York Mets

Gage Ziehl is from New York, so if one of the New York teams drafts him, it would be awesome to see. The Mets selected Duke's Jonathan Santucci in the second round, but getting Ziehl in the MLB draft 2024 will be great for them. The team needs to continue developing pitching, and Ziehl could be a strong project for it to work with a quality arm.

He may not have the physical tools, but he can be an effective pitcher, whether it be as a starter or a bullpen piece.
