Mumba Masters and Ganges Grandmasters locked horns in the fourth Global Chess League (GCL) 2024 match at the Friends House in London, England, on Friday, October 4. PBG Alaskan Knights and American Gambits met in the fifth, and Triveni Continental Kings squared off with Alpine Sg Pipers in the next. Mumba Masters and PBG Alaskan Knights went head-to-head in the last game of the day.

PBG Alaskan Knights retained their top spot after winning two back-to-back games on Friday against American Gambits and Mumbai Maestros 14-2 and 8-5, respectively.

Mumbai Masters won their second game against Ganges Grandmasters 14-5 but lost their third against the Knights. However, they moved from fifth to second position with 25 game points.

Triveni Continental Kings jumped from sixth to third after a 17-4 victory over Alpine SG Pipers with 20 game points. Meanwhile, the Pipers moved from third to fourth with 15 game points.

American Gambits descended from second to fifth with 13 game points following a humiliating 14-2 loss against the Knights. Meanwhile, Ganges Grandmasters continued to sit at the bottom of the table with two back-to-back losses.
