Arnold Schwarzenegger, a bodybuilding legend, has not only dominated the bodybuilding and film industries but also the realm of politics. The Austrian Oak stepped foot in politics in the early 2000s and served as the 38th Governor of California in 2003. He also won the next elections and held the office until Jan. 2011. That's when the bodybuilder decided to run for president. But this dream of Arnie couldn't come true.

The United States Constitution says that only American-born citizens can run for president. As for the Terminator, he was born in Austria and migrated to the States back in 1968. He earned his citizenship in 1983 but could not run for president due to being born outside the US.

After trying for so long, the bodybuilder moved on from this dream of his. But things stirred up again last year when the BBC asked Arnold Schwarzenegger how he felt about not being able to fulfill this dream of his. To which the Austrian oak said:

"I feel like I would make a great president. But I feel that, at the same time, everything I've accomplished was because of America."

He concluded his statement and politely accepted the fact, saying,

"So the only thing that I can't do, which is run for president, I'm not going to complain about that."

Arnold Schwarzenegger's revolutionary changes as the 38th Governer

Despite being unable to become president of the United States of America, the bodybuilder made radical changes for the people of California. He worked hard with the mayor, Gavin Newsom, and gave license to same-sex marriage. The tales of Arnie's revolution didn't just stop here.

Despite being an automotive enthusiast, Arnold Schwarzenegger changed the emission laws of California to control the increasing pollution. In 2006, the governor of California signed the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 with British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The Austrian Oak also stood against the decision of the Federal Government to deploy US troops in Iraq. All of his decisions had a huge positive impact on his popularity, which helped him win re-election in 2007.

Arnold Schwarzenegger helped people in need, became governor, and even refused to take his salary. The Austrian Oak not only changed the bodybuilding industry but also American politics by helping those in need.
