Many bodybuilding fans and enthusiasts follow Canadian bodybuilder Chris Bumstead for his inspirational aesthetic and relatable way of expressing his thoughts. His personal records provide motivation to his fans, who try to emulate his achievements.

In a reel he shared on Instagram a while ago, Bumstead wrote that his personal record (PR) in deadlifting was 675 lbs (seven plates) for three reps. The bodybuilder and content creator has won the Mr. Olympia Classic Physique title five times, from 2019 to 2023, after finishing second in 2017 and 2018.

"One more on the PR. 7 plates (675lbs) for 3 reps, then dropped down to 6 plates which felt damn heavy after this. I want it bad this year..." the caption of Bumstead's Instagram post read.

"The most I've done is 705 lbs" - Chris Bumstead

As Chris Bumstead recently told his followers, one should always save some room for personal improvement in bodybuilding.

In a video from 2021, Bumstead was asked what his maximum deadlift was. The Canadian bodybuilder replied:

"Right now probably 300, I might be able to do 400 max. I literally haven't deadlifted in six-seven months."

Bumstead also talked about his highest-ever deadlift, a whopping 705 pounds, which he recorded at the age of 22.

"The most I've ever done is 705 (lbs). But I was like 22 at the time. So hopefully I can get back there at some point in my life," Bumstead's tone was modest while speaking of his personal deadlift record.

The Classic Physique competition at Mr. Olympia began in 2016 and Bumstead is the record holder of the title, with five victories. The 2016 title was won by Danny Hester, followed by Breon Ansley's back-to-back triumphs.

Bumstead will be hoping to secure the title for a record-extending sixth time at the 2024 Mr. Olympia, scheduled for October 10-13 in Las Vegas.
