The bodybuilding world has suffered immense losses this year, and today, one more name has been added to the list. Daniela Schulz, a Brazilian IFBB Pro from the Wellness division, died on Friday, August 9. The 30-year-old was traveling with her husband, Hiales Fodra, when their plane crashed outside of a town in Sao Paulo.

Popular bodybuilding Instagram page bisandtris broke the news of Daniela Schulz's death. According to their post, 61 passengers and four crew members died in the crash.

"It is with great sadness that I report the passing of IFBB Wellness Pro Daniel Schulz.
All 61 passengers including a four (member) crew, died in the crash."

According to Barbend, the couple was travelling from Cascavel to Guarulhos within Brazil. Daniela Schulz was then supposed to travel to Tupelo, Mississippi, for her pro debut at the 2024 Tupelo Pro sheduled for August 16–17 to secure her spot at the 2024 Ms. Olympia.

Schulz earned her pro card last month while competing in the Wellness B category at the 2024 NPC Mr. Big Evolution held on July 6-7 in Estoril, Portugal. She had also competed in the 2023 NPC Worldwide Musclecontest at Ribeirao Preto, securing second place in the Novice A category and third place in the Open Class C group.

Before Daniela Schulz, another Brazilian bodybuilder had passed away a few days ago

On August 3, 26-year-old Brazilian bodybuilder Antonio Souza passed away shortly after posing at the 2024 Open Bodybuilding Contest in Navegantes, Brazil. He suffered a cardiac arrest and the doctors were unable to resuscitate him. According to Souza's wife, Yone Farias Silva, he was severely dehydrated after the show.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, the bodybuilder took diuretics, a drug that helps you get rid of excess water in your body. Several reports have claimed that Souza felt strong pain in his chest before stepping on the stage. The bodybuilder secured a spot in the top three.

Farias shared a message on her Instagram mourning her husband's death:

"Rest in peace my eternal love, life may be over but my love will be forever, your departure left a void, but your memory will remain 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Mourning." (translated from Portuguese)
