Jay Cutler, the four-time Mr. Olympia, defeated the eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman's physique with his 300-pound colossal physique. But gaining such an insane amount of size is not an easy task; you need to eat like a mad beast, at which Jay Cutler was an expert. The four-time Mr. Olympia ate six to seven heavily packed meals during his competition days.

Last year, in a podcast with the journalist Adam Glyn, the Comeback Kid shed light on the fact that he had an absurd carbohydrate intake. Jay Cutler said:

"The carbohydrates were outrageous. I mean anywhere between 400 to 1000 grams of carbohydrates a day." [01:25]

This was not all for the four-time Mr. Olympia's diet. He consumed around 350 to 400 grams of protein per day. The total number of calories in all of his meals summed up to roughly 6,000 to 7,000 calories per day. Let's take a look at his diet.

Jay Cutler ate two whole eggs with one scoop of whey protein powder, accompanied by two whole cups of egg whites. He also had two slices of Ezekiel bread and two packs of oatmeal for breakfast. The second meal primarily focused on his protein intake, packed with 12 ounces of chicken breast and two cups of brown rice.

Jay Cutler took three meals for his workout: a pre-workout, an intra-workout, and a post-workout meal that mainly focused on his supplement intake. His third meal included three scoops of whey protein powder, and to chug that down, he drank 60 ounces of Gatorade. The fourth meal was the heaviest meal of his daily routine. He ate 14 ounces of chicken along with 12 ounces of sweet potatoes for his carb intake.

The four-time Mr. Olympia's fifth meal was 12 ounces of chicken with two cups of brown rice for his proteins. The last and final meal Jay Cutler ate was six ounces of beef fillet and two cups of broccoli.

The behemoth bodybuilder often mentioned that he used to buy 30 dozen eggs and 150 pounds of chicken at a single time and has spent around 50,000 dollars in a single year on his diet.

Jay Cutler's workout split

The bodybuilding giant used to train for four days a week and take two rest days for his muscle recovery. According to the Born to Workout, the four-time Mr. Olympia used to train a single muscle each day for better growth and to give them enough time to recover from his monstrous workout and took Wednesdays and Sundays as his rest days.

The 300-pound bodybuilder started his training regimen with a chest workout. He did three sets of 10 reps, followed by a 1-minute rest in between the sets.

On Tuesdays, he focused on his arms and destroyed his arms and triceps. It was followed by a back workout on Thursdays after recovering his arms on Wednesdays. After targeting his back, he moved to his shoulders on Fridays and Saturdays. He took the soul out of his legs with an intense workout.

Maintaining such a titan-like physique was not an easy task, but Jay Cutler managed everything astonishingly well and became a living legend.
