Hafthor Bjornsson, aka Thor or the Mountain, stands at the height of 6'9, a beast rising from Iceland. He is a living legend of the strongman community and a former World's Strongest Man title winner.
Hafthor Bjornsson possesses a beast-like strength and recently displayed his strength at the 2024 Iceland's Strongest Man. Let's take a look at the results.
Hafthor Bjornsson's performance at Iceland's Strongest Man
The Mountain shared a series of reels of dominating all the events at Iceland's Strongest Man championship on his Instagram account. Hafthor Bjornsson began with the deadlift event at the contest. He deadlifted an astonishing weight of 837 pounds, winning the event, and hilariously captioned the reel.
"Pov: you win a strongman event with your warmup," wrote Thor.
The next event was the Giant Dumbeel Medley and Hafthor Bjornsson easily won the event without even breaking a sweat. He began with a 176-pound dumbbell and then moved to the 198-pound dumbbell. The final dumbbell was 231 pounds, and Thor lifted it easily and threw it away, showcasing his immense strength.
Continuing forward, the last event of the day was the 771-pound frame walk. The Mountain managed to do the 20-meter walk effortlessly and secured a gold medal for the event. Day 2 of the contest began with throwing the weight over the bar. Thor threw a 110-pound bag over a 5.9-meter bar and won his fourth gold medal.
The next event was the Husafell stone in which you have to lift the stone and walk as much as you can without dropping the stone. Hafthor Bjornsson completed almost three and a half rounds of the path, setting a new record of 65 meters and adding one more gold medal to his record.
"I took this as far as I needed to secure the victory," said Thor.
The last event of day 2 was the Atlas Stone event. In this, you need to lift the stone from the ground with your bare hands and push it over the bar. The stone weighed 445 pounds, and the Mountain carefully lifted the stone, maintaining a proper form, and pushed it over the bar. He did this twice and won his sixth gold medal.
"First place in all 6 events to win Icelands Strongest Man for the 11th time! This was a great event to deload for my upcoming competition Strongest Man On Earth next week," Thor captioned the post.
Bjornsson will be competing at the Strongest Man on Earth, scheduled for next week. He will be showcasing his immense strength one more time at that event.
