Game of Thrones star Hafthor Bjornsson’s 12,000-calorie diet that makes him “throw up”: Full day of eating

With over 30 wins in Strongman competitions, Hafthor Bjornsson is a living beast. Being the only man to lift 1000 lbs on both a squat and a deadlift, the 'Game Of Thrones' star needs to eat a ton of food daily to maintain his bodyweight and muscle mass.

Hafthor, 35, is weighs around 180 kg/ 396 lb and aims to bulk up to a whopping 200 kg/440 lb for his next strongman contest- 'Shaw Classic.'

For that, he takes the help of his father, who cooks all the meals for him. Consuming around 12,000 calories a day, 'The Mountain' splits it all up into six meals divided equally throughout the day.

In his recent YouTube video, Hafthor Bjornsson revealed the exact diet he's following for the upcoming Shaw Classic, which will take place in Denver, Colorado from August 16-18, 2024.

Hafthor Bjornsson's Meals

Meal number 1

  • 563 grams of Rice
  • 3 Whole Eggs
  • 200 grams of Skyr
  • 100 grams of Strawberry
  • 100 grams of Strawberry
  • 245 grams of Orange Juice

This first meal consists of 1247 calories: 209 grams of carbs, 19 grams of fat and 60 grams of protein.

Meal number 2

  • 200 Grams of Skyr
  • 500 Ml Milk
  • Half Avocado
  • 100 Grams mixed vegetables
  • 500 Grams of Rice
  • 125 Grams of Steak
  • 245 Grams of Orange Juice

The macros for Hafthor Bjornsson's second meal are- 1673 calories, consisting of 210 grams of carbs, 53 grams of fat and 83 grams of protein. Giving credit to his father, Hafthor said:

"He's an amazing chef. Every single day ... it's exactly how I want them. ... Fun fact- I eat my meals cold. I actually prefer them cold. ... just got used to it, you know. Because I'm used to traveling and being on the road. ... I like my meals cold."

Meal number 3

Hafthor Bjornsson likes to repeat his first meal again in his third meal.

"I'm bumping up, you know. I want to get even heavier," Bjornsson stated.

Meal number 4

Repeating his second meal, with a few tweaks, Hafthor Bjornsson enjoys his fourth meal after a short 10-minute walk. He says:

"My 10-minute walk in between the meals is crucial for me...I cannot eat every 2.5 or 3 hours if I wouldn't do my 10-minute walk. I do it cause it helps my digestion."
  • 200 grams of Skyr
  • 125 grams of steak
  • 500 grams of rice
  • 100 grams of mixed vegetables
  • 500 mg milk
  • 245 grams orange juice

Meal number 5

In an attempt to add a few more calories to his daily intake, 'Thor' enjoys a whole pepperoni pizza, consisting of roughly 3500 calories.

Meal number 6

After having a nice sauna, for his last and final meal of the day, the Strongman legend likes to end with:

  • 500 grams of Rice
  • 2 cans of Sardine

This full day of eating comprised of a total of 11,547 calories, consisting of 1393 grams of carbs, 391 grams of fat and 586 grams of protein.

"I am done. If I finish this, I'm gonna throw up. ...The pizza absolutely destroyed me guys. If I finish this meal right now, there's probably going to be 12,000 calories in total."
