Often considered the God of Aesthetics, Frank Zane is one of the best bodybuilders of all time. Having defeated legends like Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime years, Zane depicted a perfectly symmetrical and proportionate physique on the stage.

Despite his retirement from the bodybuilding world years ago, Zane still trains multiple times a week, maintaining a ripped physique even at 82.

Frank Zane often shares valuable knowledge he gathered after decades of experience in bodybuilding with his fans and followers on social media. In a recent Instagram post, he shared how one can improve weak body parts and create a proportionate physique.

Zane stated that training one's weaker muscles first can benefit a lot as it will ensure energy goes straight into building the lacking body parts first.

"You will probably find that certain parts of your body improve faster than other parts. The way to get around this is by (A) working your weak points first in your workout when your energy, strength and attention are greatest," he wrote in the caption.

He stated the second way to work on one's lacking muscle groups is by increasing volume. Instead of doing just three or four sets as most individuals typically do for an exercise, doing more sets using the heaviest weights possible will force one's muscles to grow.

The third method that Zane prescribed is to train that muscle group two days in a row. While this might sound impractical to many, Zane believes this provides the muscle groups with enough stimulus to grow. After training for two consecutive days, one should give that muscle group rest for a day before again training the same for two days straight.

"For example, if I'm working shoulders, I might do press behind neck, upright rowing and bent-over lateral raise the first day, and dumbbell press, side dumbbell raise, and rear incline raise the following day. This method can be used with any body part but shouldn't be continued for longer than one month," he added.

Frank Zane once helped Arnold Schwarzenegger with training

When Arnold Schwarzenegger stepped foot on American soil for the first time, he was shocked to his core after his first bodybuilding show in the country. The standards for a good physique were very different in Europe compared to that of America.

While sheer size was considered the most important in Europe, American bodybuilding favored physiques that carried size as well as shreds. Due to this, Arnold Schwarzenegger lost his debut show in America to Frank Zane. Being one of the only two bodybuilders to ever defeat Schwarzenegger, Zane later shared some training and nutrition secrets with the seven-time Mr. Olympia that helped him cut down some fat.

"I think there were a few basic things like milk products that Frank Zane and Franco both were very adamant about for me to cut out and for me cutting out the milk products alone helped me a lot to get more defined," Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed on the 'Jocko Podcast'. (01:39:24)
