Fitness sensation Sam Sulek has been a physically active individual since childhood years. With vast experience as a diver during his high school years, Sulek has many records under his belt.

Alongside this, he was also into gymnastics growing up. Learning discipline and consistency at a very young age thanks to his background in sports, Sam later decided to put it to use in bodybuilding.

Inspiring millions of people through his social media presence and YouTube videos, Sam Sulek preaches performing cardio daily as part of your fitness journey as well. In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Sam Sulek gave his two cents on whether or not you should quit playing high school sports for lifting.

Having a very practical approach, Sam Sulek believes that lifting is something that an individual can do for the rest of their lives anyway. It doesn't make sense to quit playing sports to lift weights, given the fact that most sports demand you to step into the weight room from time to time.

"I mean you got to remember you're only going to be able to do whatever high school sports you're doing is while you're that age, you got the rest of your f*cking life to be seriously working out and not to say you shouldn't workout now..that's not the sentiment I'm getting at but I don't think it's uh I don't think that's what most people should do you know," Sam Sulek stated. "If you're on the edge, I don't think that's an issue of, okay should I completely quit this one or should I completely lock into this one. I think there's an even mix of balance for sure." (06:28)

Sam Sulek credits sports background for bodybuilding success

Having a strong base since the very beginning, Sam Sulek believes that playing sports growing up is what shaped him as a good bodybuilder now. Learning the basics of any sport like discipline and consistency at a very young age, Sam Sulek is able to implement that in every aspect of life. Because of this, Sam also takes very few rest days, as his body is already used to pushing itself to the edge.

"I was uh I was already pretty athletic as a kid, like you know doing a couple hours of diving practices but I think what really worked for me was I used to do gymnastics right swinging around bars and stuff...So, I think I kind of set myself up for success inadvertently because before I started working out I already had like a 3 hour time period of like pretty intense activity," Sulek said in the following video (27:23).
