Kristoffer Berner, who earned the nickname 'The Danish Giant,' has died at the age of 43. His sudden demise has shattered fans before his next pro show.

Berner was preparing to compete at the 2024 Chicago Pro, scheduled for Thursday, July 18. The reasons for his death are still unknown. The bodybuilding page "B&T" broke the news of his death and wrote on Instagram:

"It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Kristoffer Berner (@k.berner81). Kristoffer was planning to compete at this weekend’s Chicago Pro. @aj.kellyrobert reports that Kristoffer unfortunately passed away 2 days ago. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, his friends, and his loved ones. Rest in Peace, Kristoffer."

The Danish Giant was training under well-known coach Milos Sarcev. The bodybuilder regularly posted his training videos with Sarcev on Instagram. He was often seen pushing himself to compete better than anyone else. Berner was a fan of the six-time Mr. Olympia winner Dorian Yates. He used to compare his conditioning with the bodybuilding legend.

Kristoffer Berner won his pro card in 2022, competing at the NPC Worldwide Sweden Grand Prix. The last show he participated in was the IFBB New York Pro Championship, in which he finished in a joint-16th place. Since then, he has been trying to improve himself and wanted to prove his mettle at the Chicago Pro.

Just like Kristoffer Berner, Danny Broadhurst died a few days ago

Danny Broadhurst was a national-level competitor, who died at the young age of 32 on July 13. Just like Berner, the cause of Broadhurst's death is also unknown. Broadhurst recently competed at the 2024 NPC Worldwide Mexico Supershow Regional & Pro Qualifier and secured fourth place. Not long ago, he shared the news of his engagement with his partner Angela Nely. The late bodybuilder often shared behind-the-scenes footage of his shows with his partner.

Broadhurst won the 2022 NPC Legion Sports Fest and the 2021 Mother Lode Championship. The bodybuilding page "RxMuscle" shared their condolences on the death of the bodybuilder. They wrote:

"We're very saddened to hear of the passing of bodybuilder Danny Broadhurst. Upon hearing of any efforts to help his family, we will be sure to pass it along. We send our condolences and warmest wishes to his family, loved ones, and fans."
