Maria Shriver’s reaction to Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw as a candidate

Joe Biden, 81, announced on social media that he didn’t want to be re-elected in this year's elections. He added that this was in the best interest of his party as well as the nation. Maria Shriver reacted to Biden's decision and wrote on Instagram:

“This is a difficult day for the administration and the American people as Joe Biden announces his decision not to seek reelection. Let’s be reassured that this was not a decision that was made lightly, but one that was made with care, consideration, and prayer."

"It has truly been an honor working with President Biden and Dr Biden on the White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research. We set out to transform women’s health, and they have done so. I’ll always be grateful to them, as women across the nation should be," Shriver added.

She further assured everyone that her good work for women’s health welfare as well as her war against Alzheimer's will continue regardless of who’s in power.

"This work will continue, and we will keep going, getting the answers for women everywhere. Joe Biden is one man, but the vision and the work is bigger than one man. Thank you, President Biden, for your years of service to the American people," she wrote.
