Game of Thrones star Hafthor Bjornsson sets yet another strongman world record as Shaw Classic inaugurates

Hafthor Bjornsson, aka the 'Mountain, is no stranger to naming world records under his name. The Icelandic beast has done it once again, showcasing the mad strength he possesses at the Shaw Classic. Bjornsson is already warmed up from winning his last competition, Iceland's Strongest Man.

The Mountain has set a new world record in the Keg Toss event at the Shaw Classic. The event's official Instagram page shared a video snippet of Hafthor Bjornsson creating a new world record. This time, the Icelandic beast tossed the keg at a height of 7.77 meters, breaking his previous record. The Shaw Classic congratulated Bjornsson for his latest accomplishment and captioned the post:

"🚨🚨WORLD RECORD🚨🚨 Congratulations to @thorbjornsson on the new keg toss the heightight world record at 25’6” (7.77m)‼️"

Hafthor Bjornsson made a new record in just one try, and the crowd went mad as the keg crossed the height and rooted for the Mountain. The former World's Strongest Man also holds a keg-toss record in other weight classes. The 6'9 beast threw a 28-pound keg at a height of 8.54 meters over a decade ago in 2014, and the record is still unbeatable.

He also tossed a 55-pound keg at a height of 6 meters back in 2012. Haftor Bjornsson also holds the record for tossing eight kegs ranging from 40 to 55 pounds over a height of 4.9 meters. He did it in a record time of 16.35 seconds in 2014. (via Wikipedia)


Hafthor Bjornsson sets a world record at Iceland's Strongest Man

Last week, the Mountain competed in Iceland's Strongest Man contest and demolished the competitors with his Viking strength. He even set a new world record in the sandbag toss event. Hafthor Bjornsson tossed the 55-pound sandbag over a height of 5.9 meters and set a new record. Along with that, he won a gold medal in the event.

The 6'9 Viking also holds the record for tossing 100 pounds over a height of 4.57 meters. He set the record in 2017, and to this date, the record is untouched. Bjornsson, not only dominated the sandbag event, but he also won all the events at Iceland's Strongest Man contest. He won the deadlift, Giant Dumbbell Medley, frame walk, Husafell Stone, and Atlas Stone events, also securing a gold medal in each event.
