Kevin Levrone is the synonym of 'perseverance' in the world of bodybuilding. Although he could not win the prestigious Mr. Olympia title in his career, the American finished as the runner-up four times — 1992,1995, 2000, and 2002.

It is said that despite being one of the greatest Mr. Olympia contenders of all time, Levrone could not win the title because even in his prime era, he was overshadowed by two of the most prominent bodybuilders — Dorian Yates and Ronnie Coleman. This is proof that hard work alone doesn't bear fruit when someone else is destined to win and they happen to be your contemporary.

"It's the chase, not the Catch": Kevin Levrone

Despite not winning the Mr. Olympia title, Levrone is content with what he achieved on the biggest stage. It's not easy to be this close to winning and still be cool about it. In a video of a public appearance that the 60-year-old shared on his social media earlier this year, he said:

"So, it's all about the journey, right? It's the chase, not the catch."

He said even if given a chance, he wouldn't change anything about his life.

"I will not change anything in my life that happened for Mr. Olympia trophy. I'd rather have what I have exactly right now, today," Levrone added.

He suggested that nothing was more important to him than his fans' love and support, saying:

"And it's that journey and everything that allows me to sit here and speak and talk to you guys. For me, you guys are my Mr. Olympia. And that's all that matters."

Kevin Levrone concluded by expressing gratitude to his fans and encouraging them to not give up on their dreams. He said:

"So pass it forward, man. I'm telling you, life is great, life is good. Just hold on. Greater days are coming man. So I want to say thank you guys."
