A new world record was set at the World’s Strongest Man 2024 event

Hafthor Bjornsson, aka The Mountain, might have finished runner-up at the event, but he created yet another world record. Bjornsson dominated five events and set a world record in the Keg Toss. He tossed the keg at a height of 7.77 meters, breaking his previous record.

The Shaw Classic’s official Instagram page shared a clip of the toss and congratulated the 6’9 beast on his new world record.

"🚨🚨WORLD RECORD🚨🚨 Congratulations to @thorbjornssonon the new keg toss for height world record at 25’6” (7.77m)‼️" they wrote.

The Mountain achieved the record in just one try, and the whole crowd cheered him on. However, this is not the only record he holds for tossing kegs. Bjornsson set a world record a decade ago, tossing a 28-pound keg at a height of 8.54 meters. This record remains unbroken.

Bjornsson also holds the world record for tossing a 55-pound sandbag at a height of 5.9 meters. He also dominated the tossing of eight kegs event, earning yet another world record in 2014. The Mountain displayed his true Viking strength, tossing kegs ranging from 40 to 55 pounds 4.9 meters in just 16.35 seconds.
