Josh Hart sustained an unfortunate injury during Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals between his New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers. The guard-forward, known for playing without rest during the playoffs, experienced abdominal soreness in the Knicks’ 116-103 loss on Friday night.

Hart logged a total of 30 minutes and 45 seconds, contributing five points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two turnovers, with a plus/minus of minus-15. He played all minutes in four games this postseason but signaled to be subbed out midway through the third quarter. He briefly returned.

Fans viewed Hart’s injury as a major concern for the Knicks, with one saying:

“If we lost Josh Hart, this season is wraps.”

Josh Hart has been averaging 14.9 points, 11.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists in this year’s playoffs.

The Knicks did not give an update even after the game, with Knicks coach Tim Thibodeau simply saying:

“We’ll see.”

Indiana forces Game 7 as Knicks worry about Josh Hart’s injury

The Knicks ruled out Hart for the remainder of the night in the fourth quarter due to abdominal soreness.

In Hart's absence, Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 31 points and five assists.

Miles McBride and Donte DiVincenzo contributed 20 and 17 points, respectively, while bench players Precious Achiuwa and Alec Burks added 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Pascal Siakam spearheaded the Pacers' effort with 25 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.

Myles Turner contributed 17 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks.

Tyrese Haliburton, Andrew Nembhard, and TJ McConnell each added 15 points, while Obi Toppin chipped in with 11 points.

The Knicks were outrebounded 54-46 and Indiana also had a significant advantage in assists, 35-20.

Hart’s teammate Isaiah Hartenstein is optimistic about Hart’s condition, stating he wouldn’t be surprised to see Hart back for the pivotal Game 7, with the winner advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals.

"He'll do whatever to play. If his leg's not falling off... he'll probably play."

Game 7 is scheduled for May 19 at 3:30 PM ET.

The Knicks are already dealing with injuries to several frontcourt players, including Julius Randle, OG Anunoby, Mitchell Robinson and Bojan Bogdanovic.
