"Steal my son's shirt again and we fighting": Josh Hart hilariously warns Jalen Brunson for stealing tee from toddler

Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson's friendship dates back to their time together at Villanova. That bond has only grown since they became teammates on the New York Knicks, and the two frequently engage in playful banter.

On Tuesday, a clip surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), showing Brunson snatching t-shirts from Hart’s young son on the Madison Square Garden court. In the video, Brunson manages to take two shirts from the child’s hands and even tries a third time, though Hart blocks him.

On his fourth attempt, Brunson successfully grabs a third shirt, prompting Hart to chase him.

Hart addressed the incident humorously on his X account, issuing a light-hearted warning:

“Steal my son’s shirt again and we fighting @jalenbrunson1.”

The two have enjoyed several playful exchanges on social media since reuniting on the Knicks, where both have become vital contributors.

In the 2023-24 season, Brunson averaged 28.7 points, 6.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds, earning his first All-Star selection. Josh Hart, mostly coming off the bench, averaged 9.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists.

Hart raised his level of play in the playoffs with 14.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game as the Knicks contended with injuries before falling in the Eastern Conference semifinals to the Indiana Pacers.

Before becoming part of Knicks ‘Nova Boys’ core, Josh Hart once worried about New York fans

When the Knicks acquired Josh Hart in a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers, sending Cam Reddish, Ryan Arcidiacono, Svi Mykhailiuk and a 2023 first-round pick to Portland, Hart said he was initially anxious about how Knicks fans might receive him.

Speaking on the “Roommates Show” alongside Brunson, Hart shared that New York’s intense fan base made him nervous.

“But what if I’m trash when I get there? What if I’m terrible and they’re gonna boo me?” Hart said.

His concerns quickly faded as his hustle and dedication won over the fans.

“Biggest thing they (Knicks fans) want to see … is be accountable," Hart said. "Put the work in, put the effort in. They love the genuine, authentic player, you know, blue-collar … I might not always make shots or miss shots or do whatever it is, but I’m always going to have that like, never kinda give up grind."

Hart is a key member of the Knicks’ "Nova Boys" group, which includes fellow Villanova alumni Brunson and their newly acquired wing Mikal Bridges.
