Dwight Howard's NBA Finals prediction gets criticized by NBA fans

Regarded as one of the premier defenders back in his tenure in the NBA, Dwight Howard recently shared his prediction for the 2024 NBA Finals.

With how competitive this year's postseason has been, Howard isn't ruling anything out despite of how dominant some teams such as the Denver Nuggets have been. Taking to X, he predicted an Orlando Magic vs Minnesota Timberwolves matchup in the finals.

As of now, the Orlando Magic have tied their first-round series with the Cleveland Cavaliers at 2-2 apiece, while the Minnesota Timberwolves have a commanding 3-0 series advantage against Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns with the potential for a 4-0 sweep finish.

However, several NBA fans were not too pleased with Dwight Howard's prediction as they shared their reactions on X.

"Stay off the drugs!" one fan said.
"One of the worst takes I’ve ever seen lol," said another fan.

Meanwhile, another fan wondered if Nikola Jokic suddenly called it a career and hung up his jersey.

"Did Joker retire? Huh never mind," said one fan.
"I love the Magic but we don't want that matchup," the fan posted.

One fan argued that the NBA Commissioner will detest the proposed NBA Finals matchup this year.

"Adam Silver won't let this happen," the fan said.

Moreover, one X user had interesting advice for Dwight Howard.

"Stop smoking bad weed," another fan said.

Be that as it may, it remains to be seen if Dwight Howard's prediction ends up coming to fruition.

Dwight Howard pitched a reunion with the LA Lakers

During Game 2 of the quarterfinal round between the LA Lakers and the Denver Nuggets, Dwight Howard proposed an interesting proposition on X, suggesting his return to the purple and gold unit.

Interestingly, Howard attached a video interview that he had with the "Above The Rim with DH 12" podcast, where he talked about how he was able to effectively slow down the two-time MVP Nikola Jokic during the 2020 NBA Conference Finals against the Denver Nuggets.

During that series, Howard was able to utilize his strength and his length against the Jokic to slow down his impeccable shotmaking.

After that 2020 postseason run, the former Lakers big man was acquired by the Philadelphia 76ers on a one-year $2 million deal before he eventually went back to the LA Lakers for his final stint in the NBA.
