The LA Lakers are looking to improve their roster as reports about the team planning on trading D'Angelo Russell have taken off. Fans were surprised by the reports about the Lakers' plans to move on without Russell. Jovan Buha of The Athletic shared the news about the team's stance on the point guard's future with the team.

According to Buha, the Lakers have explored the possibility of trading Russell at some point.

"If you are the Lakers, and you are potentially doing a D-Lo trade at some point, as they have been shopping him and trying to move him since he opted in, it would be nice to have a player of Spencer Dinwiddie's caliber on your roster," Buha reported.

After seeing this update on the Lakers, fans quickly piled on to share their thoughts on the news. Here are some of what the fans had to say about Russell's trade news.

"Thought it was the other account.. Ok so we starting Bronny James Now," one fan already named Bronny James as the starting point guard for the team.
"Other teams are looking to not trade for D-Lo 😂," another fan thinks Russell might be untradeable.
"NO MORE DARVIN HAM AND DLO," one fan got excited with the trade news.

Other fans were tired of seeing the same news regarding Russell's future.

"An annual tradition," one fan pointed out the repetitive nature of the news.
"We’ve been hearing this forever," another fan said.
"We’ve seen this story a thousand times already," one fan wrote.

Which teams should trade for D'Angelo Russell?

The Lakers are reportedly looking to trade D'Angelo Russell this summer, but many are curious about which teams could take a gamble at trading for him. A few teams could be a potential trade partner for the LA team.

Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets have been open to the idea of Russell's return to the team. Yahoo! Sports' Jake Fischer reported earlier this month on how the Nets could welcome him back to the team.

"The Nets have been open to welcoming Russell back to Barclays Center since this past trade deadline, sources said," Fischer reported.

San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs are slowly building a team to help Victor Wembanyama reach the next level. Russell could play a significant role in Wemby's development and be the backup point guard for Chris Paul.
