There is a bit of bad news for Portland Trail Blazers fans regarding shooting guard Shaedon Sharpe. The official Blazers X account posted on Saturday that the young guard will miss at least 4-6 weeks of action due to a small posterior labral tear on his left shoulder.

Sharpe will undergo rehab and will likely be evaluated by the team to determine his exact return date.

With Shaedon Sharpe being out for at least a month, he won't get to participate in the Blazers' four pre-season games. He is also going to miss the season opener against the Golden State Warriors on Oct. 23 and will not be available for several more games after that.

Forwards Deni Avdija and Toumani Camara will likely see increased minutes during Sharpe's absence.

Aside from Sharpe, forward Matisse Thybulle is also dealing with an injury. Aaron J. Fentress that the Australian forward is dealing with right knee soreness but no update has been given on whether he'll suit up when the Blazers take on the LA Clippers for their first preseason game.

Additionally, center Robert Williams III is also going to miss some time due to a left hamstring strain.

While these injuries could affect the Blazers' lineup in the early part of the season, there is some hope that they could return to the lineup to make an impact.

Shaedon Sharpe's injury-plagued sophomore campaign caused him to miss more than half of the season

This is not the first time that Shaedon Sharpe's name is listed on the Portland Trail Blazers' injury report. After a strong rookie year in 2022-23, where he played in 80 games, Sharpe did not see quite as much action in year two.

During the 2023-24 season, Sharpe was limited to only 32 games. He suited up in his team's first 26 contests before missing five straight in the latter part of December due to an Adductor injury.

He returned to the lineup just in time to play in the Blazers' New Year's Day game against the Phoenix Suns and would proceed to play in five more games before being sidelined for the rest of the season.

What kept him out of the lineup was a lower abdominal strain for which he underwent surgery. He showed some improvement as the season wore on, but he was not able to return.

Sharpe was cleared to participate in the Blazers' training camp ahead of the upcoming season before his latest setback.

Shaedon Sharpe showed plenty of improvement as a scorer in his second year in the NBA. He raised his scoring average from 9.9 points per game in his first year to 15.9 last season.
