Bronny James is a couple of months from making his NBA debut after a tumultuous Summer League. The LA Lakers rookie will make history as the first son to play with his father in the association once he sets foot on the court for the Purple and Gold.

With his debut looming, more details about Bronny's first season are coming to life. He's one of the players to be included in NBA 2K, making his debut in the 2025 edition of the video game series. James' rating was announced today, as he got a 68 overall from the 2K company.

Many fans reacted to this rating, some agreeing with it and others labeling it as 'too high.'

One of them was indifferent to the rating, saying it is irrelevant.

"Nepo kid rankings, who cares ?" one fan said.

Some said it was too high and even dared to state what number Bronny should have gotten.

"Should be 48," one fan said.
"too high," another fan said.

Others were more receptive to the rating but added that Bronny James will likely play in the G League this season.

"Too high or too low for someone who’s going to spend most of his time with the G league? He should enjoy that rating and prove himself," one fan said.

The LA Lakers could delay Bronny James' debut alongside LeBron James

Even though he finished his NBA Summer League with a strong performance, Bronny James didn't do enough to change the Lakers' stance on him. According to The Athletic's Jovan Buha, the Purple and Gold don't view Bronny as a rotation player.

"And though Bronny James had an impressive end to summer league, at least by his modest expectations, the Lakers plan on using him primarily in the G League as he remains far from a rotation-caliber player."

After being selected with the No. 55 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Bronny James didn't make a good impression during his first games with the Lakers. Fans had to wait until the final game to see his best version.

LeBron James stated his desire to play alongside Bronny, and they're getting closer to that historic moment. The young guard has already been compared to established NBA players, but he has more work to do before unlocking his potential.
