NBA fans roast Warriors for reportedly passing on Dwight Howard -“Curry isn’t a good GM like LeBron”

The Golden State Warriors have pushed the ultimate win-now button and their attempts to construct another championship roster have seen them being linked to various players including some who remain free agents to this point of the offseason.

One of the names that has been closely linked to the Warriors at this juncture is former DPOY Dwight Howard. Dwight might not be the "Superman" version of himself anymore, but he is still a valuable veteran and could do a job for Steve Kerr's side who only have Kevon Looney as a true big man.

While they have the likes of Draymond Green and Dario Saric to fill out their big-man rotation, none of them have the vertical presence Dwight can offer.

Despite this, recent reports suggest that they seem to have decided against signing Howard.

The player is fresh off a season in Taiwanese basketball with the Taoyuan Leopards where he was relishing the stardom away from the media spotlight of America.

He averaged 23 points and 16 rebounds over a 20-game span and displayed glimpses of developing a three-point shot while he was afforded the chance. His statistical return was surely inflated from playing in an inferior league, but NBA Twitter feels he deserved a shot with Curry and Co. at another championship.

Dwight Howard has established himself as a selfless veteran and endeared himself to the NBA fans after a turbulent period where he struggled to find his role. With Chris Paul also with the Warriors now, Howard would have added a different element to what Steve Kerr's men have to offer.

Howard having a workout is an indication of the profile the Warriors are looking for - a veteran big man who can offer size, rim protection and potential as a roll man.

However, there may not be a big market out there for such players right now, with former NBA champion Javale McGee and Harry Giles touted as other options by Steve Kerr's side.

The veteran player may have been rejected as an option but as NBA Twitter has reacted, the general consensus is that he probably was the best option available. This decision may prove crucial and is certainly a test for the new management to prove their mettle.

In Nikola Jokic's conference, taking to war with him with Kevon Looney as the only body to throw is probably not advisable for a title charge.
