LeBron James was featured in the Los Angeles Dodgers' drone show for their “Lakers night.” During that show, the team celebrated numerous Lakers greats, including Kobe Bryant, who would have celebrated his 46th birthday last August 23.

The drones were shaped into the current statues of the Lakers’ greats, except for James, whose figure was from the historic jumper that made him the NBA's all-time scoring leader, after exceeding the total points of former Laker Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Here is a clip of the drone show.

Fans then speculated about LeBron James' statue outside the Crypto.com Arena, where all the other Lakers greats’ statues were erected. They pointed out the possibility that the drones’ figure on the night could be the look of the NBA great’s statue with the Lakers.

“The interesting part of this is that the ENTIRE drone show was ALL of the current “statues” of Laker greats…West, Kareem, Magic, Shaq, Kobe…and then this last one 👀 maybe they know something we don’t know yet 😏,” said one fan.

Other fans said that LeBron is definitely getting his statue in L.A. even though he had only been on the team for six years, comparatively shorter than most Lakers greats.

“Lol they gonna be UPSET… but he’s definitely getting one lol,” said another fan.
“He shouldn’t but what’s done is done I guess 🤷🏾‍♂️,” said one fan.

Other reactions resented James’ inclusion among the Lakers’ greats, saying that he will never be a Laker, as he made his legacy during his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Miami Heat.

“Ruined with lebrick,” said one fan.
“Lebron is getting a statue as a Laker?? They keep watering down the accomplishment,” said another fan.
“No, LeBron will never be a real Laker,” said one fan.

LeBron James signed with the Lakers in 2018 and won the 2020 NBA championship in the pandemic-struck season. He became the all-time NBA leading scorer last season in a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

LeBron James set to break the most NBA seasons played record

LeBron James signed a two-year, $104 million contract with the L.A Lakers this offseason. If he opts into the second year and plays out that deal, he would break the record for most NBA seasons played in the NBA.

James will play his 22nd season in the league in October and is set to play with his son Bronny James, who was picked 55th overall by the Lakers in the draft.

Vince Carter currently holds the record for most NBA seasons played with 22. James will tie it next season as the oldest active player in the league.

James averaged 25.7 points, 8.3 assists and 7.3 rebounds on 54.0% shooting from the floor and 41.0% shooting from three last season.
