Knicks fans react to Donte DiVincenzo's trade revelation - "This is why he beefing with Thibs and Brunson’s dad"  

Donte DiVincenzo's return to the MSG after getting traded unexpectedly turned sour after the Timberwolves guard got into it with his former New York Knicks coaches. DiVincenzo trash-talked Tom Thibodeau and his assistant Rick Brunson, who is also Jalen Brunson's father, during the game.

After the final whistle, Rick and DiVicenzo's heated exchange made the spotlight. The newly acquired Timberwolves guard's postgame comments also caught everyone's attention.

"My love for Knicks fans is through the roof. I’ve said it – it was one of my best years of my life playing here last year," DiVincenzo said.

"It’s something you dream about doing. I didn’t plan to get traded. I didn’t sign here (in New York) thinking, ‘I’m signing a four-year deal, I hope I get traded a year in.'"

Contrasting reports out of New York claimed that DiVincenzo wasn't happy with the Knicks after they acquired his former Villanova teammate, Mikal Bridges, as it would curtail his role on the team. DiVincenzo refuted those claims after Sunday's game, calling them "completely untrue."

After his comments on not planning to get traded emerged, Knicks fans tried decoding the entire saga and why Donte DiVincenzo may have a bone to pick with Tom Thibodeau and Rick Brunson.

DiVincenzo cleared the air that he was joking with his former coach about not being able to finish at the rim. However, he didn't downplay his quarrel with his 'best friend' Jalen Brunson's dad.

That occurred after the game as DiVincenzo and Rick Brunson had to be separated by Knicks and Timberwolves' personnel.

DiVincenzo refused to comment on what went down between him and Rick, saying he would privately address their situation.
