Reigning NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown showed a lot of love to Russell Westbrook, who said his goodbyes to the LA Clippers on Instagram. Westbrook was traded to the Utah Jazz and was subsequently waived. The former NBA MVP will reportedly join the Denver Nuggets soon.

In a post on his official Instagram account, Westbrook shared a message to his followers now that he's officially gone from the Clippers. He was thankful to the organization and its owner Steve Ballmer for giving him an opportunity. He also sent a message to the Clippers Nation:

"I had a lot of fun playing with you all, playing in the city I love in front of my family and friends. To all of my teammates, I thank y'all for embracing me and supporting me the past two years," Westbrook wrote.

Russell Westbrook also has a message to all of his fans who have been with him through highs in Oklahoma City and lows with the LA Lakers. Westbrook couldn't wait to share his next chapter with them, which will likely be at the Mile High City with the Denver Nuggets.

"To ALL of MY fans! You guys don't know how much your support means to me. Y'all keep me motivated and energized. I've got the most loyal and amazing fans in sports. Looking forward to seeing y'all next season," Westbrook wrote.

Several personalities such as Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown commented on Westbrook's post. Brown kept it simple by putting a goat emoji, which is appropriate since there's no doubt that the Triple-Double King is one of the greatest ever.

Russell Westbrook to sign with the Denver Nuggets

The LA Clippers dealt Russell Westbrook, a second-round pick swap in 2030, draft rights to Balsa Koprivica and cash considerations to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Kris Dunn. It was a sign-and-trade since Dunn was a free agent.

It was the second time in around 18 months that the Jazz acquired Westbrook in a trade. The LA Lakers also sent the former NBA MVP to Utah in 2022 following a tumultuous one-and-a-half-year stay there.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Denver Nuggets are expected to sign Westbrook to a contract. "Brodie" might not be the player he once was and the Nuggets have a more pressing need for a shooting guard, but the legendary guard still has a lot to bring to the table.

The Nuggets can expect Westbrook to take a backseat and come off the bench behind Jamal Murray. He should be able to run the offense as a sixth man and thrive since he can push the pace with players such as Christian Braun, Peyton Watson, Julian Strawther and Zeke Nnaji.
