Jalen Brunson roasts Villanova and Knicks teammate: "This is why we can't take him anywhere"

New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson roasted his teammate Josh Hart over his pose for their GQ Magazine photoshoot. Brunson reshared a snap of their session on X, formerly Twitter, and coupled it with playful banter toward Hart.

"This is why we can’t take him anywhere," Brunson tweeted.

Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart's friendship dates back to their time together as teammates at Villanova University. The duo's bond has only grown since they reunited as teammates on the Knicks, with both of them frequently engaging in playful banter.

Hart previously spoke of the roasting culture in the Knicks during the "Roommates Show" at Fanatics Fest in New York in August. He mentioned that the friendly banters help unite the team and develop a close bond while appreciating Brunson for allegedly leading the way in the same.

“It started with JB. He put it on his back and we all came behind him… It just shows the love we have for each other," Hart said while pointing toward Brunson. "It’s on your shoulder and your back, bro! And we all just got behind you! So, we appreciate you, dog!”

Meanwhile, Brunson replied with a different response, taking the opportunity to roast his teammate yet again.

“We just had a moment backstage where you were actually mature," Brunson said. "And you were, for once, being a responsible adult! And then we get out in public and you don’t know how to act.”

The banter goes both ways, as Josh Hart also often makes playful jabs at Jalen Brunson along with the rest of his Knicks teammates.

In a clip that surfaced on X on Tuesday, Jalen Brunson was seen snatching T-shirts from Josh Hart's son on the Madison Square Garden court. Brunson manages to take two shirts from the toddler's hands before being blocked by Hart as he goes in for a third.

Brunson stalls for a while before snatching the third shirt from the child's hand, prompting Hart to chase after him.

Josh Hart reshared the video on his X account, while hilariously issuing a lighthearted warning toward Brunson.

“Steal my son’s shirt again and we fighting @jalenbrunson1,” Hart tweeted.

Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart's off-the-court bond was also visible in their on-the-court performances in the past season. Though the New York Knicks ultimately fell in the Eastern Conference semifinals in the 2023-24 season, they are expected to be a top-contending team in the next season.
