LA Lakers fans have called out the alleged double standards they believe exist in the NBA.

As Bronny James entered the 2024 NBA draft, LeBron James drew mixed reactions on how he guided his son to the NBA. 'Nepotism' was the word that was thrown around to describe the situation, but some fans saw it as a selective reaction given that similar scenarios had already happened in the league.

On June 6, The Athletic's Shams Charania reported that the son of Chicago Bulls' head coach Billy Donovan was set to coach the Windy City Bulls in the G-League. Moreover, Steve Kerr's son, Nick, is currently the head coach of the Golden State Warriors' G-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Lakers fans pointed to these two examples and questioned why Bronny didn't receive the same treatment.

"@KingJames get Bronny whatever the hell he wants man. promise y’all won’t see outrage," posts LakersGuru.

They also chimed in on the post, agreeing that there was no shame in what the four-time NBA champion was doing for his son and all these Bronny James chirps were because of the LeBron hate.

"LeDouble Standard," said Lakers Lead.

Of course, others defended the hiring of Steve Kerr's son as it was different from Bronny's.

"Getting a job on the coaching staff is nowhere near the same as skipping steps in order to get DRAFTED. Yall are dumb as hell," posts @Anonymous223.

Bronny James is not picked by the Lakers in the first round in the CBS Sports mock drafts

Bronny James has gotten more exposure on social media than the top prospects in the 2024 NBA draft, Alex Sarr and Zaccharie Risacher.

However, marketing may not help LeBron James' son as he was out of some mock drafts—including the one posted by CBS Sports. The Lakers are projected to draft Ja'Kobe Walker, the fourth-best shooting guard, with the 17th pick.

The Lakers also own the 55th pick in the upcoming draft in which many mock boards are putting Bronny James in.
