Steph Curry and LeBron James' bromance was one of the key highlights during their gold medal-winning campaign at the Olympics. Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr called their relationship just that when speaking to the media after the preseason win over the LA Lakers on Tuesday. The Warriors won 111-97 with Curry propping up 16 points, and James ending with just six.
Speaking to the media, Kerr shed light on the synergy between the two stars even as rumor mills have not ruled out a potential team-up between the two stalwarts.
“It was a bromance. There is so much respect. There has been for so long. But until you are playing on the same team, you do not know what it is going to be like. It clicked from day one.”
Kerr was also lavish in his praise of James' work ethic. He called the 4x NBA champion a thorough professional, while also calling his leadership and Curry's impressive. On the game front, James had an unusually quiet night, as did Curry. Both teams have a lot a stake this year as they go into the regular season campaign with their entire side's title hopes pinned on them.

“LeBron was as professional as anybody I have ever been around in my life, in his approach to everything. Every morning, I would go to the gym, work out, early, at seven o’clock. LeBron would be there with his trainer. Practice is at ten. There is a reason, he is doing what he is doing at 39. The way he would approach practice and shoot around, talk in film sessions, engage his teammates, and lead, is very similar to Steph in that. I think LeBron is more vocal, but there is an inherent leadership immediately apparent with both guys. It was impressive to watch.”
LeBron James turns 40 this season and continues to produce at an elite level. He will once again be LA's key weapon on both ends of the floor as they look to win another title in the James era. The Lakers tip off their regular season vs the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 22. The Warriors open their 2024-25 season vs the Portland Trail Blazers on Oct. 24.
