This offseason, Paul George changed the landscape of the NBA by leaving the LA Clippers for the Philadelphia 76ers. Amid recent developments, it appears that the 9-time All-Star is gearing up to debut for his new team.

During training camp, the 76ers said that they were going to manage his workload heading into the regular season. George did not play in their first preseason game, but that will change on Friday night. Reports surfaced on Thursday that the he will be in the lineup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

As he hasn't played in months, Paul George likely won't receive a lot of playing time in this game. The Sixers and Timberwolves are slated to face off at 7:00 p.m. ET in Iowa. Unfortunately, this matchup will not be aired locally. The only way of catching the action is via NBA League Pass.

Sixers president Daryl Morey signed George to form the league's newest big three. Alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers have a talented trio to help the franchise fulfill its championship aspirations.

George is coming off his healthiest season since 2019. He played in 74 games for the Clippers last year and averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

Paul George tops multiple categories in 2025 NBA GM survey

After failed contract extension talks with the LA Clippers last season, Paul George ended up becoming one of the most interesting names this past summer. The months-long saga ended with him changing teams, heading back to the Eastern Conference to join forces with Embiid and Maxey.

Before the start of a new season, every general manager across the league does an anonymous survey with a variety of questions. Following George's move to the Philadelphia 76ers, he was a huge part of it.

When asked which offseason acquisition will have the biggest impact on their new team, 60% voted for Paul George. New York Knicks forward Mikal Bridges came in second with 13%.

Despite being linked to the Sixers for months leading up to his signing, George received 23% of the votes for the most surprising move of the offseason. This was second to Karl-Anthony Towns being traded to the Knicks (27%).

As arguably the biggest name to switch teams this summer, George has a chance to be the most impactful for his new team. Between his three-level scoring, defense and 3-point shooting, he is what the Sixers have longed for at the forward position. Pairing him with Embiid and Maxey instantly puts Philadelphia in the conversation of teams who could contend for a title in 2025.
