While Los Angeles Lakers star D'Angelo Russell has emerged as a rising phenom on the court, it appears his most important role might be off it. Russell, who welcomed his son Riley in September 2022, frequently gushes about their sweet moments. One image shows Russell with his baby boy lying on top of his chest; the second turns Riley resting peacefully on his father, and the last shows both smiling widely as Russell's girlfriend wishes him 'Happy Fathers Day.'

It's a breath of fresh air to the game as these snaps provide insight into the life of the NBA star.

D'Angelo Russell braces for a busy offseason

In addition to becoming a dad for the second time, D Angelo Russell may be busy in the off-season. Russell is set to become a free agent this summer when the season concludes. By 29th June, he can toss aside his current contract and try for a new one on the open market.

Russell just had a good season for the Lakers putting up 18 points and 6.3 assists on an average while shooting 45.6% from the field. Well, that is if you are willing to overlook his playoff performance.

He remains a young, capable guard whom the Lakers may not want to let go of. Then, of course, there's the new head coach, whoever that may be, and if the incoming coach would like to keep the soon-to-be free-agent guard.

Another team linked to Russell is the Orlando Magic - a young team seeking both postseason experience and a more dynamic playmaking talent. Cole Anthony profiles better as a bench player, Markelle Fultz is going to be a free agent and can't stay healthy, and Jalen Suggs is more of a shooting guard.
