LaMelo Ball was selected third overall in the 2020 NBA Draft. Despite being one of the best young players in the league, the Horners guard has not been able to guide his team to the playoffs. A large part of the Hornets' failure has been due to Ball's injury troubles.

The Hornets have not made the playoffs in the last eight seasons. They expect Ball to stay healthy next season and end the playoff drought.

Last season was Ball's second season-ending injury in a row. He missed the whole 2022–23 season due to an ankle injury sustained against the Detroit Pistons on February 27, 2023.

The Hornets star suffered several ankle injuries, keeping him either out for some time or ending his season. Going forward, LaMelo Ball needs to stay healthy or else his career may suffer the same fate as his brother.
