Former LA Lakers champions Shaquille O'Neal and Dwight Howard are back at it over the 'Superman' nickname. The former NBA centers were called that at some point during their careers, but O'Neal took offense to Howard embracing the nickname without asking him for permission.

Howard shared a clip of himself wondering why O'Neal has issues with him using the 'Superman' nickname.

"Why do I have to ask him and not Warner Brothers?" He questioned while talking with Nick Young on his Above The Rim show. "They own the damn rights to Superman, not Shaq."

Those comments rubbed Shaq the wrong way, The four-time NBA champion responded to Howard by saying there was only one Superman in the league.

"U can't call yourself me and have one ring that u was a role player in getting. It's only one baby. And he's I said it," O'Neal commented under the post.
"@Shaq I never called myself you! This is petty My nickname is DEEBO! Other people called me Superman & we could've talked out whatever issue there is but you got me blocked. But it's all love Shaq 💯Keep being a legend!" Howard responded to that comment through his show's Instagram account.

He added another comment laughing at Shaq blocking him over a nickname that legally belongs to a whole company.

"Who blocks someone over a nickname owned by Warner brothers 😂 there is not REAL Superman it sound petty," Howard commented from his actual Instagram account.

Shaquille O'Neal responded to the allegations that he blocked Dwight Howard, saying he doesn't care about 'crybabies'.

"I didn’t block you I just don’t care for crybabies, enjoy yourself in Taiwan, hope u win"

Dwight Howard brought up the receipts on X, showing fans that Shaquille O'Neal blocked him on Instagram. He shared a series of screenshots and a video explaining that O'Neal never reached out to offer his help or a piece of advice.

More than that, Howard said he would use the Superman cape in his next performance for the popular show Dancing With the Stars while clarifying that he's not in Taiwan yet.

"Stop the 🧢 & I'm not in Taiwan yet I'm on dancing with the stars right now hope it’s not a problem if I pull out the cape for my next performance 🤷🏾‍♂️," Howard captioned the post.

A couple of years after Shaquille O'Neal said he was cool with Howard and credited her mom for 'forgiving' the 2020 NBA champion, he's back at it.
