"I genuinely feel sorry for Bronny", "my god this is terrible": Fans react after video of Bronny James air balling 2 3-point attempts goes viral

NBA: Summer League-Houston Rockets at Los Angeles Lakers
Bronny James scored two points against the Boston Celtics on Monday.

Bronny James is enduring one of the most challenging phases of his young career. During his second Summer League game on Monday, the LA Lakers rookie once again struggled on the offensive end. In the Lakers' 88-74 loss to the Boston Celtics, Bronny went 0-of-3 from 3-point range, while two of his attempts resulted in air balls.

His first air ball came when he was wide open in the corner. Bronny James took the shot with confidence, but the ball barely grazed the net.

Later in the game, a similar moment transpired when LeBron James' son attempted a 3-pointer off the dribble. The ball barely grazed the net when he unleashed his shot from the top of the key.

The No. 55 pick finished the game with just two points and shot 1-of-5. In the two Summer League games so far, Bronny James has combined to shoot 0-of-11 from beyond the arc. He missed all eight 3-point attempts against the Houston Rockets on Friday.

Hoops fans reacted to Bronny's shooting struggles after the rookie's outing against the Celtics. While some felt sorry for Bronny, others reacted harshly.

"I genuinely feel sorry for Bronny. This is BAD," a fan wrote.
"My god this is terrible," commented another X user.

A couple of fans switched focus to nepotism and underlined that Bronny only got drafted because of his father LeBron James.

"This what happens when your dad gets you a job you wasn't ready for. Now he just being used to sell tickets, and he's gonna embarrass himself and the team," a fan opined.
"It's nepotism he didn’t put in the work. Hopefully, Bryce is better," opined another fan.

Some hoops fans, though. showed support for Bronny James after his disappointing game.

"I remember Kobe air balling several times in a playoff game vs Utah. Everyone needs to calm down and let this kid develop," a fan wrote.
"He’s gotta be nervous?? He needs more collegiate experience or at least g league," wrote another fan.

Skip Bayless reacts to Bronny James' shooting struggles

Veteran analyst Skip Bayless shared his reaction to Bronny James's struggles from beyond the arc. He backed the rookie to come out of the slump.

"Bronny just had an open corner 3. Shot it with conviction. Hit nothing but net - barely ticked the bottom of the net ... air ball. Now 0-14 from 3 in Summer League. Didn't score in tonight's 1st half. Pulling for him. Sweating for him. He will snap out of this slump," Bayless tweeted.

Bronny James played 24:58 minutes against the Celtics. He scored two points, grabbed three rebounds and dished out one assist while registering two turnovers.
