Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani was dubbed as the MLB's version of Michael Jordan. However, NBA fans don't think that Ohtani has accomplished enough to be compared to the former Chicago Bulls star.

Ohtani has collected significant awards in his professional baseball career. He was awarded the Most Valuable Player award twice (2021 and 2023), the Commissioner's Historic Achievement Award (2021), and was selected as part of the All-MLB Team six times.

With his continued greatness on the field, the X (formerly Twitter) account "Legion Hoops" believes he's comparable to MJ.

However, fans don't think that Ohtani's even close to what MJ has achieved.

"He needs a few more rings to be Jordan," one fan said.
"You really think Shohei gambled???" another fan said.
"Potentially but not quite until Ohtani leads the team to multiple rings," a fan said.

Other fans mentioned other players who could be comparable to Ohtani.

"This is his first postseason tho? How is he Jordan? If anything he is Wilt or Bron," one fan said.
"Wouldn’t it be LeBron bc he does everything?" another fan said.
"More like LeBron," a fan said.

Former NFL star compared Ohtani to Michael Jordan

Deion Sanders has seen the similarities between Ohtani and Jordan in their respective sports. The Colorado Buffaloes coach believes the baseball star is comparable to Michael Jordan.

"Ohtani is incredible," Sanders said in September. "You can compare him to the Jordans and Tom Bradys of the world. That's who he is. He's doing things that we haven't fathom."

Aside from Jordan, Sanders also mentioned former NFL star Tom Brady. Many view Brady as the greatest of all time in football. The sixth-round pick has won seven Super Bowls, earned five Super Bowl MVP awards and won the league MVP three times.

Jordan, on the other hand, won six NBA championships. What's impressive during his reign as the best player in the league is that he never lost in the finals. He was named the Finals MVP six times and won the season MVP five times.

Ohtani's achievements are comparable to those of other great figures in sports. For fans, however, he needs to win more to come close to the players he's being compared to.
