Former NBA legend Dominique Wilkins weighed in on players from the past NBA eras, seemingly slamming Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards for his take on the players of the past. Earlier, the young T-Wolves star garnered flak from present and past players when he spoke about Michael Jordan's era of ball players.

Wilkins, speaking on the "All the Smoke" podcast, said the players of his generation would give all the eras their respect.

"We had to learn from somebody. So, we learned from the guys before us. We always appreciate basketball, but one thing we say is, It’s their time. We’ve had our time. But I hate when they try to s**t on us just to prove their point.”

Wilkins, a nine-time NBA All-Star and a member of the NBA 75 team made it clear that learning from the previous crop of players was always a massive boost.

Paul George blasts Anthony Edwards' take on previous NBA era players lacking skill

Paul George, one of the modern-day greats to have played the game and a potential Hall of Famer, didn't hold back on his views on Anthony Edwards' comments. Speaking on "Podcast P with Paul George," he said:

"I thought it was kinda disrespectful for the game. I thought it was a very immature comment. Obviously, Anthony Edwards is super talented, and he's a huge talent going forward. But just how much the game has grown, you gotta pay dues to those dudes that did it before us."

Quite simply, Edwards' comments have rubbed some of the stars the wrong way. Over the years, the league has produced some brilliant names like Shawn Kemp, Patrick Ewing, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Gary Payton and Reggie Miller, to name a few, and all of these players were bonafide legends in their own right.

At the time of writing, the young guard has not clarified his take. It remains to be seen if he decides to take back his words in the days to come.
