The Athletic's Shams Charania is a popular NBA insider known for providing breaking news. He is trending on social media for sharing the latest U.S. Presidential race developments. On Sunday, Charania reported Biden has withdrawn from the election, triggering several NBA fans who were not expecting the news to come from him.

Biden was originally in a neck-and-neck race with former President Donald Trump. However, he issued a statement saying he should step down from this year's elections and focus on the remaining months of his term.

NBA fans reacted to Charania's report on X, formerly Twitter.

"Shams spoiling presidential races now this is getting out of hand," one fan tweeted.

Another fan wondered how the NBA insider was first in line to report Biden's decision.

"How the f**k does Shams Charania know this before anybody. His sources are absolutely insane," the fan tweeted.

An X user joked about ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski feeling jealous over Charania breaking the news.

"Woj got to feel sick right now," the fan tweeted.

Another X user wondered why matters involving the next leader of the U.S.A. are coming from Charania as a source.

"Why is Shams how I learn about the future of the country?" the fan tweeted.

An X user joked about Charania for utilizing "engagement baiting".

"Shams engagement baiting like us," the fan tweeted.
