All-Star guard Damian Lillard shared a piece of his new song on his Instagram stories on Wednesday. After getting eliminated by the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the 2024 playoffs, the Milwaukee Bucks guard has had a lot of time on his hands, including time to make new music during the offseason.
NBA players are very involved with the hip-hop culture, with some involved in making some songs. Lillard is one of the few players who have excelled in being a star in the league while also performing well as a hip-hop artist under the moniker "Dame D.O.L.L.A."
He usually teases his fans with new music on social media. On Wednesday, he posted a lengthy snippet of his new song on IG. The song didn't have a title when he posted as it had a generic audio recording filename.

The latest music update that Lillard had was when he released his album "Don D.O.L.L.A. Life Lately Edition" on Nov. 22. As a featured artist, the Bucks star collaborated with a Hong Kong group called Mirror, and they released the song "Day 0" in 2024.
Lillard finished the year averaging 24.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and seven assists as he knocked down 42.0% of his field goals, including 35.4% from deep. He played 73 games in the season, the most he has played since the 2018-19 season.
In the postseason, he averaged 31.3 ppg, 3.3 rpg and 5.0 rpg in five games. Lillard shot 41.7% from beyond the arc, which was a problem for Indiana but wasn't enough to push the Bucks to the next round.
Bucks worked out prospect from Damian Lillard's alma mater
Teams are preparing which player they'll be drafting in June in preparation for the 2024-25 season. For the Bucks, they had a workout for Dillon Jones, a prospect who played four years at Weber State, Damian Lillard's alma mater.
Jones gradually improved to becoming a 20-point scorer for the Wildcats. In his freshman year, he only put up 8.2 ppg, 5.8 rpg and 2.0 apg. But his final year in college was impressive as he put up 20.8 ppg, 9.8 rpg and 5.2 apg.
The prospect compares himself to New York Knicks forward Josh Hart.
"I think now, when you see Josh Hart how he’s killing it, I think it’s harder to find a better comparison for me than him, especially from where I’m scaling up to be in the NBA," Jones said.
At 6-foot-6, Jones has averaged at least 10 rebounds during his sophomore and junior seasons. His skills are comparable to Hart, who excels at being an undersized rebounder. The Bucks could get a rebounder like the prospect as they have the 23rd pick.
