One of the few moves the LA Lakers made this offseason was to hire a new head coach, JJ Redick. The former NBA player and ESPN analyst recently revealed his starting lineup even though training camp has not started. Fans were quick to react to Redick's decision, which has seemingly pleased most of the fanbase.

Speaking on "The Lowe Post" podcast with ESPN's Zach Lowe on Tuesday, Redick was asked if he has already decided on a starting five for the Lakers.

"Yeah. It'll be the starting five that went 23-10 last year," Redick answered.

That means the Lakers will use the following starting lineup on Opening Night:

PG - D'Angelo Russell | SG - Austin Reaves | SF - Rui Hachimura | PF - LeBron James | C - Anthony Davis

JJ Redick's decision to use the LA Lakers' most successful lineup from last season earned praise from some parts of its fanbase. Former coach Darvin Ham drew the ire of many Lakers fans because of his indecisiveness and lackluster coaching. Some didn't like the way Ham was using Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura.

Here are some reactions from fans on X/Twitter:

"Common Sense Prevails," one fan wrote.
"Shots directly to Ham and well deserved. Don't change what ain't broke!" another fan commented.

Some fans pointed out Anthony Davis' preference to play power forward, which might lead to some internal problems later if not immediately taken care of.

"Davis stated that he does not prefer to play in the center position. Will JJ Redick change the roster?" a fan asked.
"I have absolutely no problem with this whatsoever. The only sad part is Vando is still hurt in the worst way in how to recover. Our defense is suspect without him. I still have my doubts, but with this line up, I can get behind especially how JJ runs it," one fan opined.
"I loved this lineup but I hope he implements [Jaxson] Hayes and Max [Christie] into significant roles," another fan said.

The LA Lakers are scheduled to have their Media Day on Sept. 30 with training camp set to start the next day. The Lakers are set to play six preseason games from Oct. 4 to Oct. 18 before opening the regular season at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 22.

LA Lakers legend disappointed with team's offseason

Despite the addition of Bronny James Jr. and Dalton Knecht plus the hiring of JJ Redick, LA Lakers legend Robert Horry is still disappointed by the team's offseason. Horry would have loved another veteran presence but acknowledged that players could be avoiding Los Angeles due to the tax.

"I'm really disappointed they weren't able to make any moves as far as like adding another veteran piece. And when I say that, that's not pointing the finger at them because sometimes guys just don't want to come to LA. Sometimes guys don't want to pay all those taxes," Horry said via SB Nation's Nicole Ganglani on X.

The Lakers recently signed Christian Koloko to a two-way contract, but they still lack a serviceable center who could play alongside Anthony Davis.
