Scoring against an NBA player would be a tough task for nonprofessional hoopers, even if that player is Bronny James who is an unproven rookie who had an underwhelming college career and a lackluster showing in the Summer League against other young professional basketball players.

Considering his current status in the league, many fans probably wonder how they'll stack up against someone like James and if they can score a few baskets over him. This was exactly what rapper Gillie Da Kid wanted to find out when he asked James' agent Rich Paul, in a clip posted on Saturday by 2Cool2Blog on X, if he had a chance of scoring against the LA Lakers rookie in a one-on-one game.

Gillie Da Kid didn't ask if he could win against James. Instead, he asked if he could score at least four points against him. A question that Paul answered without hesitation.

"Bronny would destroy you," Paul said.

Gillie Da Kid repeated his question but Paul maintained his stance. The rapper tried to plead his case and said that he was able to score four points against Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell.

He continued to present arguments but Paul did not change his mind. He stood firm on his belief that Gillie Da Kid would not be able to score, let alone win, against Bronny James.

While James has had some struggles with his offensive game, his defensive IQ and his effort have been praised.

Even though he is not a star or a lottery pick, James has spent more time working on his game than most nonprofessional basketball players. That said, and given the training he has received from the Lakers, he will likely have a strong chance of beating them.

Bronny James' jersey from his Summer League debut sells at auction

Sports memorabilia such as game-worn jerseys and shoes often sell for a hefty price. This is especially true for items that belonged to legends of the game or items used during memorable moments.

One such item that has sold at a surprisingly high price belonged to LA Lakers rookie Bronny James. Specifically, it was his jersey from his Summer League debut in Las Vegas in July.

In an auction held by Sotheby's, the jersey reportedly sold for a whopping $38,400. Jerseys that belonged to other rookies from James' class, including from lottery picks, were also sold at the auction but his was the most expensive.

While wearing that jersey, Bronny James scored four points on 2-for-9 shooting from the field (0-for-3 from beyond the arc) against the Sacramento Kings. He added two rebounds, two assists and a steal.

The Lakers lost the game by 14 points (108-94).
