The NBA 2K25 ratings for the 2024 draft class are out and fans could not help but throw their varying takes on them by way of social media.

Ronnie Singh of NBA2K met with some of the incoming rookies for the 2024-25 season and revealed their ratings for the latest iteration of the popular basketball sports simulation video game.

Among those he talked to were top overall pick Zaccharie Risacher of the Atlanta Hawks, who has a rating of 75; Stephon Castle of the San Antonio Spurs (73); Philadelphia's Jared McCain (70); and Utah's Cody Williams (71).

Fans immediately picked up on the 2K25 rookie ratings and shared their thoughts on them. Below are what they had to say on X, formerly Twitter:

Not surprising, many comments revolved around LA Lakers rookie Bronny James, son of NBA superstar LeBron James. Bronny continues to create a stir after being drafted 55th overall by the purple and gold despite an "uneventful' one season at the University of Southern California.

"'BRONNY better be a 40 ovr,' a hopeful fan wrote."
"'Bronny a 55 ovr,' another user surmised."
One fan, meanwhile, wondered where Bronny is, asking, "Wheres bronny lmao."

Other fans, meanwhile, questioned how 2K came up with the ratings, especially since most of them landed on the low side.

"'1st pick in the draft is a 75,' one fan laid down."
Another stated the obvious with, "Rookie ratings are LOW this year."
"'The draft isn't THAT weak for the first pick to be a 75,' a befuddled observer asserted.
"Then one fan shared his own ratings, writing 'It should be Zach should be a 74 jarad 72-73 matas buzelis 75-76 reed shepherd 76-78.'"

The 2K rating is a way to gauge how good one player is in the video game, akin to like a report card for how good one's game character is.

Last year's top overall pick, San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama got a rating of 85 for his rookie season.

NBA executive believes 2024 draft class not as bad as many think

The 2024 NBA draft class may pass itself off as not as deep but one executive believes it is not necessarily bad as many think it is, saying the new rookie class has players who can stand toe-to-toe against seasoned players in the league.

The league official, who was not identified, was mentioned in a report on ESPN as saying:

"I was never in the group of people that thought this was a historically bad class. Young players nowadays are so specialized from an early age and so exposed to high-level training and competition against their peers and college and NBA players.
"None of these guys are afraid of NBA players anymore because they've matched up against them in open gyms for years. The level of competition in college basketball and internationally is higher than it's ever been."

French forward Zaccharie Risacher was selected first overall in this year's rookie draft by the Atlanta Hawks, with compatriot Alexandre Sarr picked second by the Washington Wizards.

Kentucky star Reed Sheppard (Houston), UConn's Stephon Castle (San Antonio) and Ron Holland (Detroit) completed the top 5.

Also part of the rookie class is Bronny James, son of NBA superstar LeBron James, who is set to make history as he was selected 55th overall by the LA Lakers, playing alongside his dad to become the first father-son duo to do so.
