New Orleans Pelicans star forward Brandon Ingram rocked a new hairstyle while on vacation in New York City. He let her hair grow out and got it straightened, like what Jimmy Butler did in last year's NBA Media Day. Fans reacted to BI's haircut, which caught the attention of many on social media.

Despite trade rumors surrounding him this offseason, Ingram appeared in good spirits as he took the time to greet fans in the streets of NYC. He even got a selfie with some of them, while others uploaded the video of him looking holy with his straight hair and a full beard.

It's a completely different hairstyle from what Ingram sported last season, which included dreadlocks, cornrows and afro. Just like the Pelicans with their new roster, the 27-year-old is probably trying something new and fresh ahead of the team's Media Day on Monday.

Fans reacted to Brandon Ingram's newest hairstyle; some were surprised and even compared him with Jimmy Butler and Post Malone. Ingram has a few days left in his vacation before reporting to the New Orleans Pelicans on Sept. 30, just like the rest of the league.

"Bro look like Post Malone a lil bit know that I think about it," a fan wrote.
"He's in his Jimmy Butler era," one fan opined.
"Who told him that getting a rebond was a good idea?" another fan asked.

Other fans linked Brandon Ingram's new look to rapper Andre 3000, who famously had straight hair for Outkast's "Hey Ya" music video. There's also a Bone Thugs-N-Harmony reference in there for more nostalgia.

"Brandon Ingram looks like someone tried to fuse Andre 3000 and Big Gipp together," one fan claimed.
"He in his Bone Thugs-N-Harmony era lol, nah it looks cool tho," a fan remarked.
"Did Jimmy Butler let his barber do this? lmao," another fan asked.

Once players report for Media Day, they are expected to speak to reporters and fans in attendance. They also get their pictures taken to be used for promotional materials throughout the season.

Brandon Ingram skipped voluntary workout earlier this month

Amid trade rumors in the offseason, Brandon Ingram added fuel to speculations of his unhappiness with the New Orleans Pelicans. He had missed a voluntary workout with his teammates earlier this month in California.

While it wasn't a required workout organized by the franchise, it was a way for the players to get into shape and build chemistry heading into the new season. Ingram was one of only two players who missed the event, with newly signed center Daniel Theis having extended vacation after competing in the Olympics, as per Bleacher Report.

Ingram is eligible to sign an extension this season but was instead linked to a potential trade, which never materialized. NBA insider Marc Stein reported that the one-time All-Star's camp is looking at a four-year, $210 million deal.
