Victor Wembanyama missed his second preseason game on Saturday against the Utah Jazz. Wembanyama was given additional rest due to having a busy summer playing for France in the 2024 Paris Olympics. He also had a rigorous training camp, where he added muscle.

According to Dusty Garza of News 4 San Antonio, coach Gregg Popovich is allowing Wembanyama to play in the Spurs' final two games of the preseason. The reigning Rookie of the Year is expected to suit up tonight against the Miami Heat and on Thursday versus the Houston Rockets.

ESPN's latest injury report showed that the Spurs will miss four players against the Heat. Devin Vassell remains out as he recovers from an offseason foot injury, while Malaki Branham, Charles Bassey and David Duke Jr. are listed as day-to-day. Branham and Duke have undisclosed injuries, while Bassey is recovering from a knee surgery.

The San Antonio Spurs have a lot of things going for them, especially with Victor Wembanyama's upcoming second season. Wembanyama also has a new point guard, Chris Paul, who the Spurs signed to a one-year deal in free agency to help the French superstar.

Wembanyama is also excited to dunk on a trio of NBA stars this season. He was asked by CBS Sports about the players he wanted to posterize, picking Rudy Gobert, Kawhi Leonard and Jonathan Isaac.

"The best defenders would be the biggest challenge, so that would be Rudy Gobert," Wembanyama said. "I think Kawhi would be, because all these guys I respect so much on the defensive end that it would be incredible to dunk on them. So I'd say Rudy, Kawhi and a third one would be Jonathan Isaac. I think he's a really, really underrated defender."

Wembanyama will have plenty of chances to posterize Gobert and Leonard since they are both in the Western Conference. As for Isaac, the Spurs play the Orlando Magic twice in a season.

How did Victor Wembanyama do in his preseason debut?

Victor Wembanyama made his preseason debut on Wednesday against the Orlando Magic. Wembanyama was a little bit rusty, shooting 4 for 12 from the field, including 0-for-5 from beyond the arc. He still finished with 11 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three blocks.

Wembanyama also played with Chris Paul for the first time and they gave a glimpse of what to expect from them this season. Paul executed a perfect pick-and-roll with Wembanyama, who caught a lob for the alley-slam late in the first quarter.
