On Sunday, MLB posted a heartwarming video on X, showing Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames making a young fan's day as he stopped to take a selfie with her. In the video, the fan bursts into tears after meeting the Brewers star.

As Willy Adames enters free agency at the end of the 2024 season, there is a very realistic chance that this is his last season in Milwaukee. With the San Francsisco Giants looking to bring in a fixture at the shortstop position and Adames available in the prime of his career, we may well see the Dominican playing at Oracle Park in the 2025 season.

Willy Adames exits last game of regular season to rousing standing ovation
The Milwaukee Brewers' regular season ended on Sunday with a 5-0 defeat to the New York Mets at American Family Field. With the NL Central division title and playoff seeding already done and dusted, the result mattered little from Milwaukee's point of view. Rather, it was a day when the home crowd celebrated their team's achievements for the season.
Willy Adames has been at the heart of many of those achievements for the Brewers. With a .251 batting average, 32 home runs, 112 RBIs and 21 stolen bases over the season, Adames has been one of the most consistent performers for his team offensively, while also being reliable in defense.
As he exited the game in the seventh inning on Sunday, Adames recieved a stirring standing ovation from the Brewers faithful. With the 29-year-old entering free agency at the end of the season, the emotion was further amplified as this may be the last regular season game for Adames as a Brewer.
Willy Adames and Co. begin their postseason journey on October 1. They will face one of the New York Mets, Atlanta Braves or Arizona Diamondbacks, with the fate of the second and third spots in the NL wildcard hinging on the Mets' doubleheader against the Braves on Monday.
However, with a home field advantage, the Brewers, who have looked solid at American Family Field all season, will fancy their chances of coming out on top.
