Travis Kelce has seen his star power continue to rise over the years for several reasons, one of which is his impeccable style off the field. The tight-end has always had an eye for fashion and has never been one to shy away from using his wealth to get the best possible outfits he can. This was the case in 2016 when Travis Kelce drew fashion inspiration from former Kansas City Royals slugger Eric Hosmer.

In an episode of the "Diggin' Deep Podcast" released this week. hosts Eric Hosmer, Peter Moylan and Justin Su'a were joined by Gents Playbook' Founder Tom Marchitelli. Gents Playbook, which is one of the top companies for sports fashion, has a number of high-profile clients, including Kelce.

According to Marchitelli, Travis Kelce drew fashion inspiration from former Kansas City Royals slugger Eric Hosmer.

"First guy to ever ask me to make him a bomber jacket was Travis Kelce thanks to you [29:40]," Marchitelli said to Hosmer.

The Chiefs tight-end contacted Marchitelli after being inspired by Hosmer during the team's visit with then-President of the United States Barack Obama after the Kansas City Royals won the World Series title in 2015.

"Kelce slid in my DM's in 2016 and guess why he did, cause he saw this guy at the White House in a navy with rust-plaid suit...I see my Hos at the White House and I need you to get me right [29:50]," Marchitelli added.

It was an important moment for Marchitelli, who mentioned that he needed to be cool and not reply to Kelce too soon. Despite this, he was beyond excited by the message.

Travis Kelce's connection to fashion extends beyond simply looking his best

Despite being one of the best dressers in the NFL, the Chiefs star has also used his passion for fashion for philanthropic reasons. As part of Kelce's foundation "87 and Running," the tight-end has hosted several different fundraiser events, including the fashion show "Walk the Walk."

Kelce has continued to host a number of charity events through his foundation, including the Kelce Car Jam 2024, which will take place in Downtown, Kansas City in October this year.
