Cam Caminiti and his girlfriend Ava Fast were at Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, when they heard the MLB Commissioner announce his name as the 24th overall pick going to the Atlanta Braves. The duo had turned Braves fans when the pitcher from Saguaro High School will now take his arm closer to the major league mound.

Ava Fast turned to social media to celebrate the night, re-sharing the video initially posted by the Braves on social media. She described her pride for Caminiti and in further snaps mentioned that she has now turned into a Braves fan and will always be his biggest supporter.

"So proud of my boy, #LetsGoBraves," Fast wrote in her story.

Cam Caminiti and Ava Fast know each other from their high school days. After graduating from Saguaro High School, she completed her studies in Certified Medical Assistance through Arizona HOSA.

Earlier this year, in January, the couple went to social media with their relationship. Fast's social media is filled with her attending baseball games and supporting Caminiti.

Interestingly, Cam Caminiti's cousin Ken was a former National League MVP and also had a short stint at Truist Park before retiring.

The 17-year-old, standing six-foot-two and weighing 195 pounds, dominated in the high school games, leading Saguaro High School to its first state championship in 13 years.

“I know they’re a great organization, and they win a lot of games,” Caminiti said. “They’ve got a lot of great young talent. I’m excited to be a Brave.”

Braves scouting director Ronit Shah scouted Caminiti and even attended some of his high school games.

“(Caminiti) has got a huge arm,” Shah said via MLB.com. “You’ll see him sit mid-90s, and I’ve seen him gear up to throw 96 or 97 at the end of a high school game, which is super impressive. I think what impresses me most is how easy he does it.”

Caminiti mentions that he idolizes Madison Bumgarner and has met a couple of big leaguers during his journey. It remains to be seen how long before the Braves get him up next season.
