Only a few hours after fans complained about Alec Bohm remaining as the Philadelphia Phillies' clean-up hitter, the third baseman has won over the home crowd. The infielder launched a massive game-tying home run in Game 7 of the National League Championship Series in the bottom of the 2nd inning, sending Citizens Bank Park into a frenzy.

Alec Bohm's game-tying home run in the bottom of the 2nd inning was his first of the postseason. This is why fans were disappointed to see him locked into the clean-up spot heading into the pivotal Game 7. However, his 401-foot home run justified manager Rob Thomson's decision to keep him in the lineup.

Throughout the 2023 postseason, Bohm has been serviceable at best, however, the biggest issue fans had was the number of other players that they felt should have been in the clean-up position. Among the players many felt deserved to be batting ahead of him were J.T. Realmuto and Nick Castellanos.

But now, Bohm has proven why he deserved to remain as the team's fourth batter. Not only did Bohm crush a solo home run during his first at-bat of the evening, but he also scored a run in the bottom of the 4th inning. His clutch evening has had fans raving and saying that he finally woke up.

Prior to Game 7 of the NLCS against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Alec Bohm had been steady, albeit unspectacular. Through the first six games of the series, the former first-round pick had posted a .273 batting average with six hits, three RBIs and a run scored.

Alec Bohm has finally come alive in the playoffs after enjoying the best regular season of his career

Philadelphia Phillies fans are hopeful that now that the third baseman has broken out of his playoff home run rut, he can return to his regular season form. The Omaha, Nebraska native had the most productive season of his short MLB career, setting new career highs across the board.

Through 145 games in the 2023 regular season, Alec Bohm posted a solid .274 batting average. The 27-year-old also added a career-high 20 home runs and a whopping 97 RBIs for the Philadelphia Phillies.
