With the Dodgers one game away from making the World Series heading into Friday's Game 5, the Mets weren't going to roll over, and they made their intentions clear in the first inning of the game.

Mets starter Pete Alonso tagged Dodgers starter Jack Flaherty for a mammoth three-run homer over the center field wall for an early lead. Alonso's wife Haeley reacted to moonshot in her Instagram stories.

"Started the night with a 3 run bomb," Haley captioned her story.

Alonso's home run set the tone for the rest of the game. The Dodgers pitching staff struggled against the Mets hitters, failing to register even a single strikeout in Game 5.

The Mets All-Star wasn't done there as he followed his fourth home run of the postseason, a team-high, with a walk and a single in a five-run third inning.

The offensive output from the hosts was too much for the Dodgers pitchers as Citi Field celebrated a 12-6 Mets win, making it 3-2 in the best-of-seven series.

The Mets will be traveling to Los Angeles for Game 6 of the NLCS at Dodger Stadium on Sunday. Game 7, if needed, will be also played at the same venue.
