Even MLB seems to be having fun with the Athletics moving out of Oakland to get settled in Las Vegas in a few years. Thursday was the last day the Athletics played in Oakland Coliseum, as the franchise will be in Sacramento beginning next season until the stadium in Las Vegas gets built.

The game saw good attendance from fans, and some were spotted wearing hats with "A'ss" written on them. Earlier this week, USA Today reported that the Athletics released a baseball cap with a design flaw, reading "A'ss."

The hat was designed by New Era, MLB’s official apparel partner. Interestingly, it was even available on MLBShop.com earlier this week for $36.99, according to Sfist. The name of the cap was “Men's Oakland Athletics New Era Green Team Shadow 9FIFTY Snapback Hat.”

Of course, realizing their mistake, MLB took it down but not before a few fans bought the capd. As per the same report, one fan is selling the cap on eBay for $5,000.

“The Official A** hat,” the seller wrote. “Oakland A’s new era team shadow hat. Very limited amount made genuine collectors item. Brand new in hand.”

Oakland A's manager gets emotional while addressing the crowd after playing final game

It was a bittersweet moment in the Coliseum, with the A's bidding farewell to Oakland fans with a 3-2 win against the Texas Rangers. After the game, Athletics manager Mark Kotsay was visibly emotional as he addressed the crowd:

“There are no better fans than you guys. To the staff who dedicated their lives to the Oakland A’s, especially those who aren’t coming with us, I am forever grateful. I will never forget you,” said the A’s manager.
“And to all of you, on behalf of my staff, myself, this team, all the past players and coaches, everyone who’s worn the green and gold: There are no better fans than you guys. Thank you all for loving the game of baseball. Thank you for your lifelong support of the Oakland A’s."

That comes in stark contrast with a report from USA Today that mentioned that the A's management didn't want Kotsay to address the crowd. A report from ESPN said that the top brass asked the players to not do anything special after the game.

However, it seems the players avoided instructions and gave proper farewell to fans.
