On Wednesday, the New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners entered the second game of their three-game series at T-Mobile Park. The Yanks are currently 4.5 games ahead of the Baltimore Orioles as they look to win the AL East Division title.

Meanwhile, the Mariners are also fighting for a playoff spot, but it's not easy to make it with tough competition and only a few games remaining. Bryce Miller started out for the Mariners and walked Juan Soto in the first inning. Miller gave up a run as Anthony Rizzo recorded an RBI at the top of the second inning. Rizzo drove in rookie slugger Jason Dominguez.

Nestor Cortes Jr. started for the Bronx Bombers and got runners in scoring position during the second inning. However, he prevented the opponent from reaching home.

The Yanks wasted an opportunity with the bases loaded as Jazz Chisholm Jr. struck out, failing to drive in a run. Cortes did well in preventing the Mariners from scoring on multiple chances. The ace pitched six scoreless innings and recorded six strikeouts.

As for the Mariners, they retired Miller to the dugout and brought in Troy Taylor. Miller recorded eight strikeouts in six innings in a strong outing for his team. The Mariners fought hard in the seventh inning against Clay Holmes. Despite having two runners in scoring position, they could not turn things around in their favor until Justin Turner stepped in.

Justin Turner hit a home run tonight

Justin Turner went deep from the plate to tie the game at the bottom of the eighth inning. The Mariners had given the Yanks a tough run as the game remained tied. Holmes has been a disaster for the Bronx Bombers once again.

The Mariners forced their opponent to an extra inning battle, but the Rizzo struck again with an RBI at the top of the 10th inning, allowing Jason Dominguez to score. The Yanks took a 2-1 lead in a hard-fought battle.

The Mariners blew a good chance of scoring with Julio Rodriguez on third base. Rodriguez left third base and walked off the field while Randy Arozarena's bat left his hand. Chisholm was fast enough to signal Wells to throw the ball. The Yanks won the game with the help of Ian Hamilton. The Yankees have clinched the playoff spot after their win.
